Tai chi is a popular form of exercise derived from a martial art called 'supreme ultimate fist' (taijiquan).
Taijiquan is a style of
internal art based upon the
yin/yang concept.
It was developed hundreds of years ago and draws upon
taoist observations, Chinese traditional
medicine, biomechanics, physics and combat.
Most tai chi classes study tai chi exercise; fitness
but only a rare few practice tai chi as a martial art.
